Las Vegas

Las Vegas isn't generally a family destination, but we were looking for a place to settle down for a few weeks after making a pretty rapid traverse across the southern U.S. We drove from Florida to Nevada during the month of March and were looking for a break from being on a constant move. We found a nice RV Resort on Las Vegas Blvd. just 2 miles south of the strip and spent time together just hanging out around the RV Park, at the pool, miniature golfing and visiting with neighbors.

Vegas isn't really my cup of tea. I don't like throwing away hard earned money at the casinos and I'm not really into the shows that they offer on the strip. I do however appreciate the ingenuity that went into building out the Strip. We took the kids down to the strip for an afternoon and out to dinner at the Harley Davidson BBQ to just take in the environment and enjoy a good meal. I did take advantage of the city to teach my kids a lesson by using the large casinos to illustrate to the kids who typically wins and walks away with the money. I think/hope they got the message.

The kids loved taking in the city. We went to the M&M store, which was four floors of everything M&M, where I spent a small fortune on chocolate (Could have also used as a life lesson, but come on, the kids need to have a little fun in Vegas). We also walked the strip and checked out all of the cool spots like New York, New York and the fountains at the Bellagio.

Enjoy the Ride!
