First Stop: Pickerel Lake South Dakota

A lake is a landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
-Henry David Thoreau
After leaving Kansas City, first stop on our radar was my uncles' lake house on Pickerel Lake in South Dakota, which took us approximately 7 hours to get there. Both the lake and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. It was such a wonderful time on the water and we really enjoyed our visit with my Uncle John and his family. We spent the weekend water sporting, fishing, and turtle hunting!

Sunny even went for a swim!

Helaina got up on her water skis the first try!

 She did amazing!

 Sidney did awesome too!

 Sidney

So proud of Tristan who had the hardest time getting up on the skis. It probably took him 15 tries but he persevered!!
Great job Tristan!!
Helaina tubing!

Sidney and Izabelle on the tube. Thumbs up to go faster!

Many thanks to my Uncle John and Aunt Sherri for great hospitality, food and conversation.
Next stop, Rapid City, South Dakota.
 God Bless,
